Breathing practice:
When we’re in a rush, feeling stressed, the hardest thing in the world is to pause. If you try to stop, everything in your body and mind seems to be still charging forward. Many people try meditation and may give up because they feel too agitated or anxious to sit quietly for any length of time. It can be physically uncomfortable to pause. This experience can become an unnecessary obstacle to recognising the natural stillness accessed through the practice of Mindfulness. In this retreat you will learn how to regulate your breathing in order to calm your nervous system and relax your body in preparation for meditation. Once you have established a new healthier breathing pattern, you will notice how this relaxed breath flows on to support the deeper and broader practice of mindfulness meditation and everyday life. Mindfulness Meditation is a natural process of learning to gently focus the mind on the unchanging stillness that underpins all our thoughts, emotions and feelings. This practice develops your skills to effectively manage disruptive thoughts and feelings, anxiety and ill-health. Living mindfully transforms your experience of yourself, your relationships and the larger world. |

| We spend a lot of time, energy and money on our physical health and appearance, but what of our mental and emotional health? Meditation improves emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing, and is simple and accessible. 'Meditation Practice' is designed by Michele. It is a 6-month course of weekly, emailed lessons that gives you techniques, guidance and support to establish a personal daily practice. The course is especially suited to those of us who have increasingly busy lives and find it hard to attend a group. It requires just 7 minutes of your time daily to practise - that's only seven out of the 1440 minutes of your day! Previous participants had this to say about the course: |
